Oklahoma officials blocked a shipment of toxic waste from the Ohio train derailment from entering the state on Saturday, Gov. Kevin Stitt wrote in a Facebook post Sunday.

Governor Kevin Stitt, Senator James Lankford, Senator Markwayne Mullin and Congressman Lucas were informed of the shipment from East Palestine, Ohio, late Saturday night and collaborated to block the waste from reaching Oklahoma.

There are too many unanswered questions and ultimately I made the decision that this is not in the best interest of Oklahomans. As of late last night that shipment has been blocked," Gov. Stitt said.

On Feb. 3, 38 cars of a Norfolk Southern freight train in East Palestine, in northeast Ohio near Pennsylvania, derailed and several of the train's cars carrying hazardous materials burned, according to the Associated Press.
