Oklahoma City Police and Animal Welfare are investigating after four dogs were found dead in Edwards park in the northeastern part of the city.

Oklahoma City Animal Welfare said the four dogs were Pitbull mixes ranging from under a year old to four years old, and they are confident the dogs belonged to someone.

OCPD said the animals were found tied to a heavy object such as a brick or cinder block.

While no other dogs have been found in the past two weeks, authorities said they are still looking for whoever has done this.

"Whoever is doing this, is taking the dogs out to the pier there at the pond in the park and simply throwing them off the pier," OCPD Crime Stoppers Manager MSgt. Jennifer Wardlow said. "We want to put this out there in hopes someone who lives in the area saw something suspicious."
