A fire tore through a Midwest City home, displacing a family and killing a dog.

The blaze happened at a house on Juniper Avenue at about 11:21 p.m. Saturday, said the Midwest City Fire Department.

When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke coming from the closed garage. Flames also spread to the attic and the living room, the fire department said.

Everyone inside the home got out safely, said the Fire Department. Due to the extent of the damage, crews could not determine how the fire started. It may have originated in the laundry area, based on the account of someone living there.

The fire department said the blaze caused an estimated $70,000 in damages to the home and $15,000 in damages to the contents inside.

A GoFundMe page created on behalf of the woman living there said she lost everything in the fire, including her dog that was pregnant. Anyone wishing to help her can click here.
