Legislation To Create Alert System For Missing Adults Under Consideration At The State Capitol

Legislation creating an alert system for missing adults is under consideration at the state capitol.

The system is named for Kasey Russell, who was reported missing in Tahlequah in 2016 and her remains were found six years later.

Kasey alerts would be similar to Amber or Silver alerts, but for adults ages 18 to 60.

"We are using those two-alert systems as models for this new one and we are working closely with law enforcement and DPS on getting the language just right," said Representative Daniel Pae.

The bill's author says he hopes to have it passed through both chambers within the next month.
