Midtown Dog Treat Drive-Thru

For most families, our dogs are our kids and when they exemplify good behavior, we reward them. At Willow Roe’s box of Treats at 1001 N Western, that is exactly what is happening. 

The concept behind the drive-thru started when owner Amy Perth was tired after working all day and would stop and get food for herself. 

“When I would be coming home and picking him up from daycare I would want to stop, go through a drive thru, and pick something up for him and there just wasn’t one,” said Perth. 

Amy started doing some research on the perfect treats for dogs. 

“So, for instance dogs should not have grapes or raisins, they should not have lemons, limes the acidic can hurt them,” said Perth. 

She began to focus on what dogs can have. 

“Chicken and rice are usually what the vet recommends when your puppy is having stomach trouble,” said Perth. 

She created a gourmet menu that is sure to please all her customers. 

“When we were little and we wanted to go to McDonalds right after we would get out of school. Well dogs are becoming more like kids to most people now, so we just want them to have that experience as well,” said Perth. 

Each visit the dogs get a toy, a doggy treat, and a special dessert with their meal. 

“This is the puppy spice latte, so it's pumpkin puree and whip cream on top,” said Perth. 

Amy just opened the drive-thru in February and is able to blend her passion for pups with her love for giving. 

“Every Thursday, for every box that we sell we give a dollar to the Oklahoma City Homeless Alliance,” said Perth. 

She also offers specials for health care and first responders.  

There is a special Easter event this Sunday, March 26, from noon to 2 Pm, for dogs and dog owners to come out and take pictures with the Easter bunny. There will be plenty of dog treats as well as a food truck for the humans.
