A man accused of domestic violence unintentionally turned himself in to authorities at the Cleveland County Courthouse, according to investigators.

Officials said Nicholas Davis's wife filed a victim protective order after she said he showed up to her house threatening to kill her, and kept her from calling police.

While Davis' wife was filing the order, officials said Davis was caught on camera outside of the courthouse placing a tracker on her car, after which he went to the Sheriff's office to file a victim protective order against his wife for "alleged abuse."

"It's not all the time that you really see it work out step by step that way," the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office said. It [worked] out perfectly for us."

Davis was booked on complaints of stalking, kidnapping and violation of a protective order.
