1 Killed In Crash On Turner Turnpike; Investigation Underway

A person was killed in a crash involving a parked semi Saturday morning on the Turner Turnpike, deputies say.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the driver of a sedan, who has not been identified, was driving eastbound around 8 a.m. near Kellyville, when they veered to the right and hit the semi on the shoulder.

OHP said the sedan driver was pinned in the vehicle for over two hours before Kellyville and Sapulpa fire departments released them.

Medical examiners pronounced the person dead at the scene.

Authorities say the semi driver was not injured and his condition, according to Troopers on scene, appeared "normal".

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
