Nearly every Oklahoma county had something on the ballot April 4.

For the position of County Clerk, republican candidate Maressa Treat took a narrow lead to win the seat over democrat Derrick Scobey.

“I am humbled that the citizens of Oklahoma County have voted for me to serve as their next county clerk,” said Treat. “I pledge to bring honor, integrity and transparency to this office, while improving the overall working conditions for those who will be serving Oklahomans with me on a day-to-day basis. The County Clerk’s Office is a vital function of state and local government, where attention to detail and a strong work ethic are key to making the office a better place for those who rely on the services being provided. I plan to bring energy and vision to this office starting on day one.
“I want to thank my amazing team, who worked to the last minutes of this race to ensure our victory tonight. I also want to thank my family, including my husband Greg, sons Mason and Cooper and daughter Olivia. Families go through the stress of a campaign just as much as a candidate. Their unwavering support continuously lifted my spirit and helped me work even harder.”

In the heart of the metro, just 35 votes separated Matt Hinkle with Thuan Nguyen for Oklahoma City's Ward 5 seat, but Hinkle managed to squeak out a win.
