Yukon Schools Made Aware Of Possible Threat At High School

Editor's note: Yukon Public Schools announced Monday morning that classes throughout the district have been canceled for the day.

Yukon Public Schools sent a text alert Sunday night saying it is aware of a possible threat made toward Yukon High School.

YPS said it is working with the police and security will be increased at the all school sites, including the high school, on Monday.

YPS said all sites will be on a "soft lockdown".

The school told parents that absences will not be counted on Monday.

Read the full text sent out just after 8 p.m. below:

"YPS is aware of a possible threat that was made toward Yukon High School. YPS has been working closely with the YPD. We will increase security at Yukon High School and all school sites will be on a soft lockdown. Absences will not be counted against students on Monday if you feel it is necessary to keep students home."
