Pursuit Ends In Crash On I-35 In NE OKC

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol was involved in a pursuit that ended in a crash that began at around 2;30 a.m. Wednesday on I-35 near Northeast 63rd Street.

OHP said this pursuit started on westbound I-40 near South Douglas Boulevard when a driver sped through a construction zone at a high speed.

Troopers said the driver fled westbound before merging onto northbound I-35, and later exiting of the highway to continue on I-35 Service Road.

Officials on scene said the driver attempted to evade law enforcement by cutting through a fence near I-35 and East Wilshire Boulevard, but ended up crashing.

The driver was taken into custody and sent to a nearby hospital.
