According to OHP, a total of 5 semitrucks and two passenger vehicles were involved, with both fatalities being in the same passenger vehicle.

“It appears as if traffic was completely stopped or slowly moving when a semitruck... struck the passenger car, going over that car on top of it, into another semi," OHP trooper Eric Foster said. "We won’t spare any man hours investigating this, making sure that we get the answers that are required."
Investigators said the driver of the semitruck, Tony Chinedum, was flown to Denton, Texas for treatment but has been released.
Several other semis involved in the crash tried to get out of the roadway, but debris from the collision shut down traffic in the area for several hours.
OHP said the semitruck that caused the crash was hauling bricks, which is illegal.
