Oklahoma City Zoo Hosting Art Contest For Kids

The OKC Zoo is hosting the Pepsi Vending Machine Art Contest.

Students in Kindergarten through 12th grade can submit original art designs to win prizes and have their art displayed at the Zoo.

There are two divisions, a K-5th grade and a 6th through 12th grade division.

The theme this year is Make Oklahoma Litter Free for Wildlife, so students need to use their artistic talents to express their ideas for eliminating litter through art and awareness.

"So what we're really hoping is for kids to be inspired to think about of course bringing art together but also thinking about environmental issues like recycling, keeping an area litter free," Candice Rennels with the OKC Zoo said. 

Grand prize winners in each division will have their design replicated on the cover of a Pepsi machine at the Zoo and receive a $300 gift card to a select OKC Outlets store

Winners from all award categories will receive a certificate and have their designs on display at the Zoo.

The deadline to submit artwork is this Saturday April 22nd, for more information visit www.okczoo.org/pepsicontest. All artwork must be postmarked by the deadline.
