Senator Markwayne Mullin surveyed storm damage on Friday to get a first hand look at the town from Wednesday’s deadly tornadoes.
“We wanted to get here. We wanted to get eyes on it,” Senator Mullin said after arriving in Cole, Oklahoma.
The town of 600 people was devastated by an EF3 tornado that destroyed the town and killed two people.
Senator Mullin said his goal is to make sure Oklahomans that were affected get the resources needed.
Senator Mullins said, “There’s always a gap between your private insurance, your Oklahoma emergency management and then the federal side which is FEMA.”
Mullin’s is hoping to bridge that gap.
Officials with McClain County said water may not be restored for two or three weeks due to infrastructural damage.
Officials are asking for water donations that can drop them off at the Cole Fire Department.
