A local church recently devastated by a fire held an outdoor service in the parking lot of its burned-down sanctuary.
It's been nearly one week since the God of No Limits church was hit by a devastating fire causing them to lose their building; but in the face of tragedy, music and worship still flow from the congregation.
"We had decided that we're going to go ahead and have our service," said Pastor Marty Alvarado.

In the shadow of loss, their message rang clear.
"It's the body, it's the people, said Pastor Marty. “It's not the building."
He says the fire has not dampened their spirits.
"The building, yes, obviously it's gone,” he says. “But the people are strong."
Even with that strength, they’re leaning on the communities outpouring of support.
"You know, we lost everything,” Pastor Marty says. “We lost our sound system and someone immediately said we'll get you one. People were coming out of the woodwork. It's just been one thing after another. People have said we have chairs when you're ready and we have this when you're ready.”
But the loss runs deeper than sound systems and chairs.
"I run Psalms 139:14 homeschool program out of the basement of the church," says Jennifer Alvarado, who is also the Associate Pastor at No Limits Church.
"She loves kids, that's her heart," says Pastor Marty.
She says support for the school has also been overwhelming.
“I’m just grateful,” she says. "within 48 hours, the entire back end of my car was full of curriculum and games, toys and books."
Donations from friends and strangers.
"She was at a store and a gentleman followed her to the back and said 'I heard your story, what do you need?'" recounted Pastor Marty.
Assoc. Pastor Jennifer was emotional about the random act of kindness, saying, "I have no idea who he was but thank you thank you, thank you, thank you.”
The team at No Limits Church say they plan to rebuild where the ruins stand.
"When we planted our church at a coffee shop right down the road, we knew that we were meant to be in this area,” says Pastor Marty. “And I can't move from here because we can't do ministry if we're not right here."
