Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Robenie "RJ" Long Jr.
Police responded to the campus after an alert was sent out at around 12:16 p.m. about an alleged shooter near the Humanities building on the south side of the campus mall.
Police said Long walked out of the building with the suspect's wife. The suspect, Brandon Morrissette, 30, believed his wife was having an affair, but the wife told police that it wasn't true and they were "friendly classmates."

Officers encountered Morrissette, who was armed, in front of the building and ordered him to drop his weapon. Morrissette was then taken into custody.
The building was placed on lockdown, and police found Long dead on the scene.
“They observe a subject laying on the ground a 20-year-old victim that was dead,” Midwest City Police Chief Sid Porter said.
Friends and witnesses said the victim died while trying to protect his classmate from her husband.
