An Oklahoma City man has been charged for allegedly setting fire at a southwest Oklahoma City church.

United States Attorney Robert J. Troester announced on Tuesday that Oscar Reynaldo Gomez, 54, has been charged with one count of arson in connection to a fire that caused significant damage to the God of No Limits Church on April 17.
Fire crews responded to the scene near South Walker Avenue and Southwest 71st Street.

No injuries were reported in the three-alarm fire, and the building was declared a total loss.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives identified Gomez as the person responsible for the fire, and he was arrested.
On Monday, Gomez had his initial court appearance on the arson complaint where the court ordered that he be detained pending further proceedings in the case.
If found guilty, Gomez could face no less than five years and up to 20 years in federal prison, three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
