While McClain County Emergency Management said huge progress has been made, devastation in the town of Cole remains from mid-April's tornado.
Since April 19, volunteers from all over have continues to help and have served over 800 meals since last week.
The Cole Community Center has hot meals, support from the Red Cross and now assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
FEMA has set up outside the community center for at least the next two weeks for face-to-face assistance.
In addition, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation is working on roadways while the Department of Environmental Quality has set up designated burn sites.
The community center said they post lists of needed supplies, and the community shows up with donations right away.
“From the mayor... to strangers, it’s just personal. I really believe they take care of their legacy here," volunteer Toni Torres said. "The way they love their community, and the way the other cities have come together is amazing."
The Cole Community Center is located at 26887 Main Street in Blanchard and is open every day from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
