State Supt. Ryan Walters will meet with Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat on Thursday to work on moving legislation over education forward at the state capitol.
Walters asked for public negotiations during heated debates on Wednesday
Treat said he had been asking for negotiations for months.
"I plan on being at the State Department of Education [Thursday] at 2 p.m.," Treat said.
Walters said he would attend if Treat, Gov. Stitt or House Speaker Charles McCall wanted to meet, but Stitt and McCall have not said if they plan to attend.
“We've been negotiating for months, it's time to move things forward," Rep. McCall said.
The State Department of Education said if the leaders show up this afternoon, there will be a meeting.
