Plaza Inn Faces Possible Shutdown Following City Complaint

The Plaza Inn near I-35 and Southeast 25th Street faces a potential shutdown after Oklahoma City officials asked a judge to declare the hotel a nuisance.

A court filing submitted this week calls the motel "one of the most dangerous places in Oklahoma City."

The legal action is the first step towards possibly closing the Plaza Inn. City officials said they also want 24/7 security on site should the motel remain open, along with security cameras.

Data from April shows people placed more than seven hundred 911 calls from the property, the site of dozens of assaults, homicides and a standoff.

Court records showed the owners of the motel have yet to respond.
