The award-winning 'Community and Schools Together' program received a large donation for Putnam City students who are needing a consistent person in their life.
“Many of our students just don't have hope. You ask them what they want to be when they grow up and so many say nothing or that they don't know," said Putnam City School Foundation's DiAnne Bryant.
The foundation plans to spend Paycom's $50,000 donation on recruiting and training new mentors for students.
Bryant said the program is rapidly growing and this donation allows them to serve as many students as possible.
"Bringing in a mentor to sit with them and talk about life and this big wide world that we have and how many opportunities we have for them is just vital for success,” said Bryant.
Putnam City students wrote handmade thank you cards to Paycom for their donation.
Now the foundation is looking into how it can share the work it's been doing in Putnam City with other school districts across the state.
