Moore Community Marks 10th Year Since Deadly EF5 Tornado

Members of the Moore community came together Friday to share stories and honor the resilience and strength of those affected during May 10, 2013 tornadoes.

Saturday will be declared Moore remembrance day.

During the ceremony they honored those victims of the tornadoes by saying their names. 

Speakers said neighbors were helping neighbors but the overall message was that day doesn’t define Moore. 

President and CEO of Norman Regional Health System, Richie Splitt says “Let us draw strength from the lessons learned and let us continue to support and uplift one another. And may the memory of the fallen and the resilience of our community be beacons of hope for generations to come.”

The hospital has a photo gallery on display of the destruction that will be there all weekend. 

They’re also trying to get the display in the Moore public library.
