Wildlife Researchers Trap, Measure Alligators Near Idabel

A wildlife research project in southeastern Oklahoma is working to trap alligators at the Red Slough Wildlife Area near Idabel.

As temperatures are warming up, they are trapping larger alligators.

Each alligator is weighed, measured, and given a transmitter before they are released.

Researchers said this will help them figure out how many alligators are native to Oklahoma.
