Splash pads are spraying all over the city of Tulsa today to mark the start of the holiday weekend.
The city of Tulsa splash pads are back open Friday and the pools will be back open next weekend so there are lots of ways for families to celebrate. As it heats up across Oklahoma, kids can now get out and splash around in the city. City of Tulsa aquatics manager Nick Pond says the city has spent months fixing broken splash pads, hiring lots of lifeguards, doing maintenance, and more.
Next weekend, pools are set to open, and one of those is the Reed Park Pool, which underwent construction and now has four swim lanes, a 29-foot slide, and other new amenities. Pond says families always take advantage of the many splash pads and pools in Tulsa and it’s something the city is proud to offer.
“On weekends especially and during the week, we have pools at capacity all day long. It's a huge resource for the community so many people come, especially the cost," said Nick Pond. "Reed pool is only $2 to enter, 10 visit passes for $15 for families. It's a good deal and worthwhile.”
A splash bash is being held next Saturday from 1 to 5 at the Reed Park pool to celebrate the reopening. Information about where the pools and splash pads are located and when they’re open can be found on TulsaParks.org.
