Veteran Inmates Build Memorial Inside Correctional Center

At the Department of Corrections, a group of veteran inmates are creating a lasting reminder of their sacrifice.

A veterans memorial is being built inside the Lexington Correctional Center.

It's a vision that started several years ago, evolving from a flagpole to a monument in the center of the prison yard.

There will be a memorial wall commemorating the names of inmates and Oklahoma Department Of Corrections staff.

The inmates are handling all the labor.

About $10,000 in materials were donated by TEEM and Boeing.
