Amps on Admiral kicks off this Saturday at Kendall Whittier Main Street.
It’s an outdoor concert featuring local musicians, a kid's zone, and many local food trucks. People will line Admiral Boulevard for the concert that also celebrates Ziegler’s 50th anniversary. The art and frames store opened in Kendall Whittier Square in 1973 and it's been a community staple ever since.
It's known for custom framing, artwork, art supplies, and household items. This anniversary falls in line with the second year of Amps on Admiral. Ed Sharrer is a volunteer for Kendall Whittier Main Street, and says he's looking forward to the event.
"We're going to have five hours of live local music, great local bands, food trucks, kid zone, some local craft beer. So it's going to be a good time. Everyone should come out and enjoy themselves,” Sharrer said.
Organizers say the concert is a great way for families to kick off the start of summer. The street will be blocked off - and local bands will perform back to back and there will be several options for food.
"This festival in June, we're going to have local music out on the street. And it's just a fun environment, being surrounded by the old buildings. It's actually part of Route 66 in Tulsa. I think it's a little bit more fun when it's a street festival,” Sharrer said.
Amps on Admiral is Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m.
