A man is accused repeatedly assaulting a woman who is mentally handicapped, Tulsa County deputies said.

The victim told deputies she let Donald Long live with her because he is homeless, but she said Long would push and shove her, and sexually assaulted her daily.

The victim has a severe brain injury after a domestic assault back in 2016 and struggles to get around, deputies said.

She told investigators that Long forces her to have sex every day and she says no, but saying no is not an option for Long.

Deputies arrested Long outside the victim's apartment after she contacted DVIS and was taken to a hospital for a sexual assault exam.

Deputy Richie Gonzales met her at the hospital and said she was covered in bruises, traumatized and barely able to talk.

“I actually sat criss-cross, applesauce right down in front of her, and just got beneath her so she could look down at me, and then I could kind of pierce the story, peel the story back like an onion,” said Gonzales.

The victim told Gonzales she met Long outside her apartment in February and he stayed at her place often because he was homeless.

She told deputies they were dating, but said Long forced her to have sex and is mean and violent.

She said one time, she woke up in the shower naked and Long dragged her out of the bathroom by her ankles. Another time, she said Long pushed her to the floor leaving bruises all over her back.

"She was afraid to get a protective order. She was afraid of the suspect. She was afraid for her life. She had come to a point where she had nothing left,” said Gonzales. "I am seeing victimization of those that just don't have a voice. It's getting worse, Reagan. It's hard.”

Deputy Gonzales said Long took advantage of the woman's disabilities.

"I believe there are some segments of society that have just lost their compass and to prey on those or victimize those that just can't stand up for themselves. That's what we do here at the Sheriff's Office is we stand up,” said Gonzales.

Gonzales said they got an emergency protective order for the victim and DVIS put together a plan to keep her safe.

Records show Long was convicted for domestic violence back in 2013 and was given a one year suspended sentence.
