TULSA, Okla. - Shower and storm chances stick around on Tuesday.

Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:

Showers and thunderstorms continue across southeastern Oklahoma in North Texas early Tuesday morning where a severe thunderstorm watch remains until 10 a.m. The watch is currently south of the Pittsburg, Latimer and LeFlore County region. A few of these storms will have the potential to become strong and severe with large hail and damaging winds in and close to the watch areas. Some pockets of locally heavy rainfall will remain possible also across the southeastern third of the area early this morning. While stronger storms will remain well south, a few showers of storms will be near the metro for the early part of the day. There is a remote possibility of another small storm complex late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning brushing part of the area. The highest chance would be across the western sections diving down across southeastern Oklahoma late tonight and early Wednesday morning.

The pattern for the second half of the week into the weekend into early next week suggests a mid-level ridge of high-pressure attempting to build through the central plains states. Trends in model data on Tuesday morning suggest the ridge may not be quite as robust for the weekend. This means the potential for a few late-night and early-morning storm systems nearing the area will be a possibility through the end of the week. Will refine probabilities daily as predictability remains somewhat low and this pattern, but a stronger signal remains for the late Thursday and early Friday morning period near northeastern Oklahoma. Temperature trends also may be slightly lower than previously advertised for the weekend, but still pushing highs into the lower 90s.

We’ll start Tuesday morning with lower 60s. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 70s and lower 80s. Thursday morning lows in the 60s will be followed with afternoon highs in the upper 80s. Friday’s afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s and lower 90s.

Thanks for reading at the Tuesday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day!
