Many people in Mannford are still without power and cleaning up damage and debris.

People who live there say even though it’s a long road ahead, they’re proud of the way their community has come together.

Anita Timmons went outside Sunday to find tree branches blocking her yard and driveway.

It’s taken several days to clean up, but she was glad she didn’t have to do it alone.

"We had a couple that stopped that were just driving around and stopped when they just saw my husband and I out here,” said Timmons.

Timmons says she’s thankful the people in Mannford, who had damage of their own, took time to help her and her husband, Bill, clean up.

"We had several from the church come throughout the time,” said Timmons. “Besides Bill and I, we had about 15 different people at one time helping us. So we were blessed."

But the cleanup efforts are only just starting.

Some buildings, like the Mannford Post Office, had to close their doors for now because they were too damaged.

For the time being, people who use the Mannford Post Office are being asked to go to the Meramec Post Office.

People who live in Mannford say they know it’s going to take some time before things get back to normal.

"Just trying to get on with life, and it seems like that's not going to happen for a while,” said Paula Jones.

Jones says she still can’t believe how much damage this storm caused.

"There was trailers that turned over at the lake, big trailers,” said Jones. “People, their lives are forever changed from that little, what, 10 minutes? That the wind came through here?"

Timmons and Jones say Mannford will get through it, one day at a time.

"We're just a super tight community, and we'll just all band together and work it out,” said Jones.

"Just keep doing our daily tasks. It's all we can do,” said Jones.
