The search continues for a driver accused of causing a deadly crash and running from the scene over the weekend in southwest Oklahoma City.

The suspect killed a woman, and the victim’s 7-year-old son and two men were sent to local hospitals with significant injuries.

Debris from the crash was still scattered Monday across Southwest 40th Street near Agnew Avenue.

“You hear a crash like that,” Ariana Morales, a neighbor, said. “Everybody comes out of the house and checks it out.”

Police were called to investigate two crash scenes near Morales’ home Saturday night. Police said the first crash happened when the driver of a Hummer ran a stop sign.

“Apparently, he just kind of trampled over somebody on a motorcycle,” Morales said.

The driver left the injured motorcyclist and the mangled bike behind. He continued down Southwest 40th Street.

“There was a family back their vehicle into the driveway when this Hummer crashed right into that vehicle,” Msgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department said. “Killing one person, killing the driver.”

The impact caused the Hummer to spin around and the SUV flipped with a family of three inside. Morales' father found the passenger of the Hummer, later identified as Cristian Castillo, 37, on the ground.

“He wasn’t conscious at first and then whenever he was coming to and he was realizing the situation he was trying to leave,” Morales said.

Morales’ father held Castillo for police while her mother went to check on the SUV where police said 34-year-old Mayra Calderon died.

“They couldn’t get her out of the car either,” Morales said. “They had to take apart the whole car.”

The victim's 7-year-old son and husband were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police arrested Castillo that night, but the driver took off on foot.

“You would think you take somebody’s life, you want to do the right thing,” Morales said. “How could you be so careless and leave? Not even check if your friend is OK.”

Investigators are working to identify the driver of the Hummer. Police said he will be arrested once they get a name.
