The Oklahoma County Detention Center is taking steps to help their inmates by providing new mattresses.
They’re replacing, what staff call, infested and troublesome mattresses. Brandi Garner, the CEO of the Oklahoma County Detention Center, said to better address the issue, the jail spent over $160,000 dollars from last year's budget.
Garner said another concern was mental health issues that can come from bad sleep, which was another factor that pushed them to get these mattresses .
They expect everyone to have new mattresses by the end of September.
