Dairy Queen Blizzards To Benefit Children's Miracle Foundation

On hot days like this, there simply isn’t anything better than a cool treat. The partnership that was formed 39 years ago with Dairy Queen and The Children's Miracle Foundation.

“From the beginning of June to the end of July, we ask people to donate a dollar or three dollars or round up their change. All those donations go to the Children’s Miracle Network that benefits the closest children’s hospital for us,” said Dairy Queen representative Jessica.

They call it the miracle balloon campaign.

“Our locations have raised over $30,000 already, since the beginning of the calendar year,” said Jessica.

Money going to directly to help families like the Stowell Family

“The girls were born at 26 weeks, each weighing just over a pound,” said parent Carrie Stowell.

The twins, labeled as micro-premature, could be held in one hand.

“She still has a feeding tube. We still have multiple specialists we see at Children’s throughout the year,” said Stowell.

Today at 11-years-old, the twins get to travel the state telling their story.

“We are the champion family for 2023 for the Children's Health Foundation,” said Stowell.

Dairy Queen restaurants all over the state prepare the conclusion of the miracle balloon campaign, with miracle treat day, this Thursday.

“Dairy Queen will be donating one dollar for every blizzard sold to Children’s Miracle Foundation,” said Jessica.

A busy day for workers, but one they are excited about.

“To me it is wonderful, because we are helping the kids,” said Dairy Queen worker, Mikisha.

This year they are raising money for cancer research, so with a western theme they are working to ‘give cancer the boot.’

Come into any Dairy Queen in the state, Thursday July 27th order a blizzard, and one dollar from the purchase will go directly to the Children’s Miracle Foundation.
