As students prepare to return to school later this month, many schools are implementing requirements on backpacks.

Oklahoma City Public Schools students return to school on Aug. 10 for the 2023-24 calendar year, and some secondary schools are implementing a new backpack rule.

The district said the new rule will help school weapon detection systems with the entry and exit process.
