An athlete from an Oklahoma small town is taking off after becoming the first former NAIA player to sign a contract with a professional women's fastpitch league.

The Newcastle native is now a part of the Oklahoma City Spark. Emily Cerny told News 9's Bailey Holland that she never thought she could do what she loves professionally in her home state.
