Police believe there is enough evidence to charge Jennifer Haddock with first-degree manslaughter for the death of her 36-year-old brother Sean Haddock.
Thursday afternoon Jennifer Haddock was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. She bonded out on a $50,000 bond.
At 9:30 that morning, police responded to the Spring Creek Apartments.
Edmond police, in an affidavit, say Jennifer Haddock called 911.
The affidavit says police saw Jennifer lying on the floor with her brother inside the apartment.
The document says they were in their mother’s apartment, where Sean stayed.
Their mother witnessed the incident and said her son was yelling at Jennifer about some furniture, according to the document. Their mother continued saying Sean approached Jennifer aggressively, pushing her against the wall.
Jennifer told police after that, she pulled out a handgun, telling him to back up.
The document says Sean grabbed her gun and told her to shoot him before backing up.
Jennifer says she fired a single round as Sean re-approached her aggressively.
Jennifer has been working at the Edmond Police Department for seven years and is currently on administrative leave.
Edmond Public Schools Superintendent says that Haddock served as a school resource officer, but as of last fall, she’s no longer working in that capacity.
