Oklahoma Rep. Frank Lucas was injured on his ranch Friday morning in Roger Mills County, his office confirms.
Congressman Lucas was admitted to an Oklahoma City hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery from his non-life-threatening injuries.
"Frank and his family are in good spirits and are sincerely grateful to the tremendous team of doctors, nurses, and others taking care of him," the Lucas Office said in a statement.
Lucas, who represents Oklahoma's Third Congressional District, is in his 15th term while also serving as the senior Republican on the House Financial Services Committee. He is the Chairman of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee and is the longest-serving Member on the House Committee on Agriculture.
Rep. Lucas is known for his dedication to the Farm Bill and in a December interview with News 9 and News On 6's Washington Bureau Chief Alex Cameron, he said "My legacy committee is agriculture."
