An angry customer has been accused of shooting a northwest Oklahoma City auto shop owner during a fight over a car this weekend.
The front door of the Northwest 23rd and Villa Automotive shop remained closed on Monday for business. The shop's owner was taken to the hospital two days ago after police said he was shot in the stomach. According to the report, the victim was able to tell officers he was working on 49-year-old William Bryant's car. However, Bryant was not happy with the work that was done.
“Police learned there was some kind of disagreement between the two,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, Oklahoma City Police Department.
Police said Bryant wanted his money back and that the owner told Bryant several times he did not have cash to refund him.
“The suspect at some point during that disagreement shot the victim in the abdomen,” said Quirk.
Bryant left the shop in a gray Firebird on Saturday but turned himself over to police that same day.
“The shooter had called into police,” said Quirk. “Stated that he was near the scene there so police could speak to him.”
A conversation that ended with Bryant being arrested and taken to the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Bryant is being held in the county jail on one complaint of shooting with intent to kill and his bail was set at $1 million.
