A man is accused of leading officers on a pursuit that ended with the car driving into a pond Wednesday morning in Stillwater.
The Payne County Sheriff's Office said they assisted Stillwater Police in the arrest of Jeremy Tinner in relation to a domestic-related incident.
The sheriff's office said Tinner nearly hit two officers as he was fleeing the scene. Tinner then went through several roadblocks and a four-way stop near West Lakeview Road and North Country Club Road, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies said Tinner was traveling at a speed of over 100 mph.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol performed a tactical vehicle maneuver, which resulted in the vehicle driving into a pond near North Country Club Road and Territory Lane, deputies said.
"He hit the curb, went up over the curb, and there's a pond over here, went right up into the water," said Brady Rickman, who works in a business nearby where the pursuit ended.
After a brief standoff ensued, the sheriff's office said they were able to take Tinner into custody.
"[He acted] like he can't open the door," said Payne County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Rockford Brown, "But he was able to open the door a little bit and that's when officers were able to get up there and he came out of the vehicle."
