Teacher To Receive $90,000 From Western Heights Settlement

A high-dollar settlement was reached between Western Heights and a teacher fired during the Covid-19 pandemic.

She filed a lawsuit claiming the district violated the Americans with Disabilities Act after refusing to let her teach from home at the height of the pandemic.

The teacher argued she had pre-existing conditions making her extremely susceptible to contracting the virus.

Western Heights has agreed to pay her $90,000 over a three-year period.
