Man Arrested, Accused Of Killing 1 In NE Oklahoma City Drive-By Shooting

A man was arrested and is accused of killing one person and injuring another in a drive-by shooting last month in northeast Oklahoma City, police said.

When was the suspect arrested?

On Aug. 9, Steven Truitt, 23, was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint in connection to the shooting, according to police records.

When did the shooting happen?

On July 25, Oklahoma City Police said they responded to the scene near East Park Place and North Kate Avenue in reference to a shooting call.

When police arrived on scene, they found one victim injured and another victim, later identified as 25-year-old Don Rose, dead at the scene, police said.

What led up to the shooting?

The injured victim told police they were walking in the area when the suspect pulled up in a vehicle and began firing gunshots at them, according to police. It is unclear what the motive for the attack was.
