Court records said Ladarion Norton was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of a collision involving injury, one count of compounding or concealing a crime and one count of destroying evidence.
Investigators were able to track Norton down in Texas after a two-year investigation into the crash. Investigators say Norton tried to fix his Tesla at a body shop in Texas to cover up the damage.
The crash happened on Aug. 15, 2021, in the 300 block of Johnny Bench Drive near the Bricktown Ballpark.
One of the victims told News 9 they were on their way home when the crash happened. The victim said his leg was hit with the vehicle’s side mirror. The victim also said his friend, who was also hit, was sent to the hospital and needed plastic surgery.
“Just turn yourself in it’s not worth your mental state, it’s not worth our mental state. You’re just causing more harm than good,” the victim said after the incident in 2021.
Oklahoma City Police said it’s unclear if the vehicle was on autopilot when the crash happened.
Norton's bond was set at $10,000, court records said.
