A misdemeanor charge has been filed against an Oklahoma City man who is accused of stealing electricity from two of his neighbors.
A court document alleges that 36-year-old Ryan Costiloe connected his own unit to his neighbors electrical outlets, tampering with public utilities in the process.
75-year-old Alice Woods lives with family in one of the condos he is accused of stealing from. According to her, she noticed a wire stretched across her front porch which was connected to the electrical utility.
"I caught them at least three times with the real heavy extension cord type thing made out of wire," Woods said.
The court document said a different neighbor was also caught the act on their security camera. News 9 has been unable to obtain a copy of that footage.
Woods, who lives off Social Security, said the electricity theft stretched her already thin budget. But, she said OG&E, who provides for her complex, has been helpful throughout the situation.
"Who do they think they are to steal from us?" Woods said. "And if they don't understand that, they really need to get good with God. And I'd have to think they better pray hard for their own soul, because they're losing it."
Online records show no court dates have been set yet in this case.
