Dillon Gabriel has a lot to look forward to in his final year as quarterback of the University of Oklahoma, including a chance to become a Top 10 passer of all-time.
Not all-time at OU, but all time in college football history. He is 2,874 yards away from the No. 10 spot.
This will be Gabriel's fifth season in college football, and his second with the Sooners. But it will be his third year with Jeff Lebby, Oklahoma's offensive coordinator and the OC at the University of Central Florida when Gabriel played for the Knights in 2019.
The two built quite the good rapport.
"A lot of trust, a lot of faith and just what we're able to do -- and the belief in the system but also the execution of it. Having done it, I think a lot of guys are just being able to take it to the next level," Gabriel said about his belief in the Lebby offense.
Lebby mirrored the compliments back to No. 8.
"He's going to have a ton of production. He's had a ton of production. He's got to play better. I've got to call it better; we've said that. But that guy allows you to put a lot on the entire unit because he's played a whole bunch of ball," Lebby said.
