Edmond Man, 65, Identified As Driver Who Died In Oklahoma City Crash

A 65-year-old man from Edmond was killed after crashing on I-35 in Oklahoma City on Sunday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

An Edmond man was killed after a crash in Oklahoma City on Sunday, authorities say.

John Cox, 65, was pronounced dead by the Oklahoma City Fire Department just after 7:30 a.m. on Interstate 35 northbound, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP says Cox was driving a 2022 GMC Yukon north on I-35 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle left the road and struck a bridge pillar.

Firefighters had to extricate the driver.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
