A federal jury found Oklahoma County not at fault for the death of an inmate in 2019.
Daryl Clinton was in the custody of Oklahoma County Detention Center in August of 2019, when he died of a heart attack.

The plaintiff was seeking $11 million from Oklahoma County if the jail was found to be negligent in Clinton’s death.
The medical examiner determined Clinton’s death to be an accident and identified 13 medical conditions, according to court records.
Clinton was arrested on August 5, 2019 after backing his car into a light pole, court documents say. Police believed Clinton to be intoxicated and discovered multiple illegal drugs while searching his car, according to court documents.
Documents say Clinton was sent to the hospital before being booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Clinton underwent multiple tests and then was released to jail. Clinton was held in the medical unit and, according to court documents, was monitored by the medical staff.
Clinton was found on August 10, 2019 on the floor of his cell having a heart attack, staff resuscitated Clinton, but he later died at the hospital, according to court records.
