It will start to feel like fall this week!

For the next 9 days, temps will hang around in the 70s and possibly 80s.

What is the weather like for Tuesday?

On Tuesday, the chances of rain going up again are high. Rain and storms are more likely the further northeast you go across Oklahoma.

This morning, parts of the state have thick fog and drizzle. This will erode away midmorning, and more high-level clouds will roll in.

Our next storm arrives from the north. This will shove another cold front across the state.

Before the front arrives, it will be a warmer afternoon.

The heat and instability will allow storms to fire along the boundary.

These storms will likely take off late afternoon in the west and northwest and push to the southeast through the evening.

A few storms could be severe, with damaging winds and hail being the primary concerns.

Temperatures range from "normal" for this time of year to slightly below normal. Both days look dry, but rain chances return Friday.

This could become a hurricane Helene later this week. The latest data shows that it will make landfall in the Florida Panhandle late next week.

EMSA HEAT SAFETY TIPS

-HYDRATION is key in preventing heat-related illness. Drink plenty of water or electrolyte replacement drinks several hours before and during long exposure to the summer heat.

Wear light-colored, loose fitting clothing and a wide-brimmed hat if working outdoors, and take plenty of shade breaks.

No alcohol or caffeine.

If you do not have air conditioning, find a cooling station or public space (such as libraries or malls) during the day.

Don’t limit your use of air conditioning.

Use the buddy system if working outdoors and check on elderly neighbors.

Keep a cellphone on you at all times when outdoors, including walking, running daily errands, yard work or sports and physical activity.
