Fatal McClain County Fire Under Investigation

A McClain County fire that killed one over the weekend is being investigated.

The fire was on Roper’s Avenue near Wayne, and the home was completely lost to the flames.

Neighbors said the resident may have been in the home when the fire happened. Crews found a person’s remains in the debris.

The Oklahoma State Fire Marshal is investigating the fire. The medical examiner is looking to positively identify the body and confirm the cause of death.
