Blanchard Public Schools determined that a potential threat made on social media against the school was not credible, a school representative confirmed to News 9.
According to a letter sent out from Superintendent Brady Barnes on Wednesday, a Blanchard Middle School student received an anonymous harmful threat through Discord, a social media platform. The district said they would have a large law enforcement presence Thursday as a precaution.
In a message sent to parents by Barnes on Wednesday night, he wrote:
In regards to the threat made against a Blanchard Middle School student. Law enforcement has determined at this time that the threat was made from a non-credible source from out of state.
Although we believe there is no credible threat, there will still be extra law enforcement available tomorrow to our district.
Sincerely,
Brady Barnes
Blanchard Public School Superintendent
