Man Accused Of Causing Fatal Crash Involving Edmond Officer Expected In Court

A man accused of crashing into an Edmond Police officer, killing him, is expected at a pre-trial conference on Wednesday.

A pre-trial conference for a man accused of causing a crash that resulted in the death of an Edmond Police officer is being held on Wednesday.

Oklahoma City Police said Jay Fite had meth and other drugs in his system when he was driving a utility truck and crashed into a group of stopped vehicles at a red light.

Among those involved in the crash was Edmond Police officer CJ Nelson, who was killed on his patrol motorcycle in the crash.

Fite pleaded not guilty to first-degree manslaughter charges.
