Skaters hit the pavement for the second annual Skate the Plaza District event.
Northwest 16th street was shut down so skateboarders, roller skaters, and cyclists could pull off the coolest moves.
Everyone we talked to says it's a sport for people of all skill levels and all ages.
One attendee was thrilled it not only brought his family together, but renewed his past love of skating,
"It's been 36 years since I was on a board. My 11 year old son Flynn, kind of got me back into it... But he has taught me so much more than I ever learned," said Chris Weilert. "It's the only sport I've ever seen where everyone cheers for everybody, on every trick."
There will be more opportunities to shred when Northwest 23rd street closes down for Uptown Outside on September 23rd.
