Stroud Residents Evacuated Following Gas Line Rupture

Residents of a neighborhood in Stroud had to be evacuated Tuesday morning after crews working in the area ruptured a gas line, police said.

Stroud Police said crews were replacing a power pole near West 7th Street and Sooner Drive and struck a gas line.

Five families were displaced, and a local church was opened up for the evacuated.

Currently, the city is waiting on Oklahoma Natural Gas to come out and fix the line.
